On Tuesday, 14 th of November 2017 at 19:00 at the Stairs Gallery will be opened an exhibition of sculpture by Petar Sibinović called “U + 03BC”.

Intruder or distant cousin

The work of Petar Sibinović arises in the spirit of abstract expressionism. The process of creating its sculptures contains elements of generic art. Peter is more focused on the process and energy charge that transforms into appearing forms – sculptures and drawings.
The color and volume of physical body are the attributes that they use to make their work imaginable in the domain of material perception. Any resemblance to the sacred subject or association with certain objects that in reality are identified as known, such as plants, microorganisms seen under the microscope are collateral. It is not the subject of art research or the object of its work.
In the gallery, his work behaves like intriguing intruders. This is especially noticeable in the mode of setting that does not suffer from a classic treatment. In this sense, Petro’s three-dimensional works touch upon the field of virtual art in a unique way. In the context of the reality under which I mean the interior of an exhibition or other known space, his work is perceived as a glitch. In this way, they influence the expansion of our insights into reality and the call to look behind the mirror.

Petar Sibinović

Born on May 25, 1986 in Valjevo. He graduated from the Secondary School for Art Crafts in Šapac, a plastic art dealer. Of 2010 graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Belgrade, graduate school in the class of professor Veljko Lalić. Currently in PhD studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade. Since 2015, ULUS has been a member.
