The Japanese – Serbian Film Festival (JSFF) is a cultural exchange event between Serbia and Japan, which is held annually in Belgrade and Tokyo, organized by CULTCRAVE and the Yugoslav Cinematheque. JSFF displays short films of Japanese and Serbian authors or films shot in the territory of Serbia and Japan on a given topic. As a pioneer of the modern type of multidisciplinary event, visitors have the opportunity to get to know, analyze and participate in conecting the two countries.
The fourth JSFF consists of a competition, revival and accompanying program (cultural, artistic and educational content) on the topic “TABOO”. In 2017, our goal is to revise, review and compare personal and national taboos.
Apart from strengthening the cultural exchange between Serbia and Japan through film art, the goal of JSFF is to promote young artists, support cooperation in the field of film production between Serbia and Japan, and to promote Serbian culture and art in Japan with program content and accompanying activities.
