One of the most important and most accomplished works of world literature is taken as a starting point for researching the problems that are equally intense scandalizing and disturbing from the first-hand text. We want to enter a new reading of the fundamental questions that open up space for contemporary artistic perspectives. Our intention is to explore Nore’s motivation in a transformed social context in which new mechanisms of pressures are revealed. Changing the social, political and economic circumstances also changes the performance story of Nori. The spaces that seemed emancipatory, as the expansion of freedom, are set out as regressive. What are the domination of the rebellion and the place of freedom in a highly materialistic society? What is the relationship between intimate and social repression? What does Nora as a hint of a rebellious man turn into when there is a lot of choices in the modern context and actually reduced opportunities? To what extent new social circumstances can radicalize the need for change?
