Jaga Jazzist (also known as Jaga) is an experimental jazz band from Norway that becomes famous when the BBC declare A Livingroom Hush (Smalltown Supersound / NinjaTune) as the best jazz album for 2002. They become a kind of musical phenomenon in Norway for 20 years after they exist. This nine-member lineup is considered one of the most exciting and innovative in the scene. Among other things, all of them are part of other musical projects and in some way contributed to the most significant editions and projects in the field of this music in this world. But are they playing jazz, rock, hip-hop, regiment, electro, classical or choral music? The answer is all this and none of this – simply, they are a fascinating music law by themselves.
Their music full of fun and energy is complemented by their lively performance. It’s amazing that one such well-established and experienced band, from the beginning in 1994, can remain so present and fresh today,
