MUZIKA ZAPADNE EVROPE
Atanas Veliki)…
Tokom dugogodišnjeg rada, Horom su dirigovali: Milan Bajšanski, Dimitrije Stefanović, Svetolik Pašćan, Vojislav Ilić, Dušan Miladinović, Vladimir Milić, Aleksandar Spasić, Aleksandar Vujić i drugi. Sadašnji dirigent hora je maestro Aleksandar Brujić.
VELIKA SALA
MUSIC OF WESTERN EUROPE
Choir „Belgrade madrigalists“ was founded in 1951. Founder and conductor, Milan Bajsanski, formed a new choir ensemble that nurtured a new kind of music. First of all, there are madrigals, motets, renaissance and baroque music of English, French, Italian and German masters, spiritual composition of domestic and foreign authors, national repertoire, as well as contemporary compositions and their modern trends. The repertoire includes the works by Stevan Mokranjac, Isidor Bajic, Vojislav Simic, Josif Marinkovic, local artists, as well as works by Bortnian, Archangel, Orlando di Lass, Palestine, Mozart, Guno and many other foreign composers.
It is a curiosity that this choir performed the first of all of our choirs in concert by Stevan Mokranjc’s Liturgy, both in 1966 and abroad (Moscow, 1972), and that it was our only choir that had the honor to hold a concert Orthodox music at St. Peter’s Church in Rome before Pope Paul VI (1970).
Among the prizes won are the first prizes in Arec, Langolen, Perugia, Bratislava and Brno. Chor has recently participated in festivals and contests in Venice (Venezia in Musica), Rome (Musica Sacra a Roma), Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod, Bulgaria (International Festival of St. Athanasius) …
For outstanding merits in the cultivation of Serbian spiritual music in 1991, the Serbian Orthodox Church honored the choir „Belgrade Madrigalists“ by Order of St. Sava.
In the course of many years of work, the Choir was led by Milan Bajsanski, Dimitrije Stefanovic, Svetolik Pascan, Vojislav Ilic, Dusan Miladinovic, Vladimir Milic, Aleksandar Spasic, Aleksandar Vujic and others. The current conductor of the choir is maestro Aleksandar Brujić.
