Režija: Dorota Kobiela (Little Postman, Chopin Drawings) & Hugh Welchman (Peter & the Wolf)
Film je do sada osvojio 13 nagrada publike uključujući Anesi, Filmski festival u Šangaju, Sao Paolu, Vankuveru itd. Evropskim filmskim nagradama, a zatim je nominovan za Zlatni globus (Golden Globe) za najbolji dugometražni animirani film od strane Hollywood Foreign Press, dok mu je savez filmskih kritičarki dodelilo 11. godišnju EDA (Annual Excellent Dynamic Activism) nagradu. „With Love, Vinsent: The Mystery of Van Goga“ is a story about the life of the famous Vinsent van Goga (1853 – 1890). This is the first feature animated film for which hand-painted hand-painted oil paintings on the canvas, in the technique of van Goga.
The film is based in the visual sense exclusively on the works of this artist, and the heroes of the film are characters from van Gog’s paintings. To capture portraits, landscapes and other extravagance of Gog’s paintings, more than 125 top painters have been engaged, including our artists Biserka Petrović and Vladimir Vinkić. The story follows the events that Van Gogh wrote in more than 800 letters, and relies on one of the recent hypotheses of the art historian that the celebrated artist has not ended his life by suicide as far as he was concerned.
Directed by: Dorota Kobiela (Little Postman, Chopin Drawings) & Hugh Welchman (Peter & the Wolf)
The film is about a brilliant and troublesome Dutch painter from the 19 th century, and the complete film is fully painted in accordance with Van Goga’s paintings and style. This revolutionary technical and artwork lasted six years. The film making process lasted six years. The team of painters participated in 125 top artists from all over the world, who lived and worked in Gdansk, Vroclav and Atina. A total of 65,000 paintings were made, of which a film was made in oil painting technique. This project represents a historical endeavor that united the art of painting and film, which is no wonder to overwhelm the hearts of the public and jury around the world.
The life and controversial death of Vinsenta van Goga is told through his paintings and characters on them. The intrigue is revealed through interviews with the characters closest to Vinsent and through the dramatic reconstruction of events that led to his death. The film shows 12 of Van Gog’s most famous paintings. The work, taken from the 800 letters written by the painter, leads us to significant people and events in time before his unexpected death. Each scene was painted by the technique that Vinsent himself painted.
By animating the characters, exteriors, and exteriors that exist in the images of Vincent van Goga and by casting them into biographical animation and movie thriller, the directing couple Dorot Kobiel and Hugh Welchman develop a story that illuminates the vague circumstances of the painter’s death (which some recent research claims was not suicide is almost verovalo). Starring in the film were made by actors: Douglas Booth, Jerome Flynn, Robert Gulaczyk. The composer is Clint Mansel.
