To meet the celebration of the New Year’s Eve, at the Kalemegdan fortress, right from China, a light spectacle arrives! In the organization of the Balkanopolis Center for Modern Tradition, with the support of the Government of Serbia and the Chinese Embassy in Belgrade, the first “China Light Festival” starts in Serbia, with the magic installation of Chinese lanterns, which will officially celebrate the Chinese New Year with us for the first time. The solemn opening was announced for Monday, February 4 at 6 pm, on the plateau near Ribar in Kalemegdan Park. The exhibition will be opened by the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, Ms. Chen Bo, Minister of Culture Vladan Vukosavljević, and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Ana Brnabić. This spectacular exhibition has come about thanks to the cultural exchange between our two countries, on the initiative and personal engagement of our artist Slobodan Trkulja, Serbia’s creative ambassador, who enjoys immense popularity in this most populous country in the world with the Balkanopolis group.

The light spectacle was created by one of the world’s leading lanterns manufacturing companies – Zigong Haitjen from China. Their lighting installations, called Panda, God’s Age, Wonderful Deer, Penguin Shapes and many others will bring us into a wonderful world of imagination and light, which will be especially interesting to the youngest. The entrance for all visitors is free!

The exhibition will last from February 4 to February 24, and the lanterns will light up every 17 hours.

In the framework of the program of the first “Chinese festival of lights”, on February 16 in the Kombank Hall will be held a concert “HIN AN – primitive music ensemble”, originating from the beautiful Horikin prairie from inner Mongolia in China.

With a spectacular program that is suitable for all ages, the HIN AN ensemble will take you to an unforgettable musical journey where you will discover stories and anecdotes from the life of Mongolia through music and dance. This performance represents a unique opportunity to get acquainted with the culture and tradition of this ancient people of the Far East.

The host of the evening and the program leader will be our famous artist Slobodan Trkulja.
