Braće Krsmanović 4, Belgrade, Serbia
11.Feb.2019 - 24.Feb.2019
Veljko Vuckovic will present the pictures under the title Clandestine audience of the Cultural Center Grad, on Monday, February 11th, at 8pm. Vučković will be the fourth solo representation in Belgrade, and the tenth in a row. Vučković graduated from the Master of Applied Painting at the Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade in the class of professor Nikola Božović, and is currently a student of the first year of doctoral studies at the same faculty. In addition to self-representations, he participated in 60 group exhibitions in the country and abroad, and won the third award of the Nis Art Foundation and three praises.
Clandestine is a series of images that has been developing since 2017. In the focus, the film image, or rather a fragment of its continuity, is reduced to the amalgam of the move, which is the fruit of a certain meditation, in which the merging and separation of the elements of the image take place. By using this amalgamation, Veljko evokes the complex collage-montage memory of the film, tackling the complex forensic relations of the extracted image. By taking sequences from moving images, without precise explanations of the context, Vuckovic creates a mysterious silver screen crop, made in oil on canvas technique. From this Clandestine sends the audience to the research – looking for references and evidence of inspiration in those blurred mystical clips. Tension and unpredictability are reflected through the form of images and the content itself, with which Vučković creates a speculative game between time and timeless.
Clandestine series will be exhibited until February 24th, and the working hours of the gallery are from 14 to 20 hours, every day.
