Wall of sound in movement, over twenty meters in lenght, a series of 8 meter long strings and millions of microtones assembled in the 400 m2 large black hall of Pogon Jedinstvo. This will be the look and the sound of the new installation by Zimoun, produced specially for the Pogon Jedinstvo venue.

Swiss artist Zimoun is truly a big name of the global sound art scene. He is best known for his large site specific sound installations. One of these big kinetic-sound installations will also mark his first presentation in Croatia. The installation is inspired by Pogon Jedinstvo, the history of the venue, the industrial character of the hall and its complex acoustic features. While thinking about the space and its identity, Zimoun is staying true to elements in sequences, to contrasts between monumental and fragile, between complexity and simplicity. For the Zagreb installation, all of these aspects are being implemented.

Zimoun says that his systems are like sheep in an enclosed area – though they move in a given setting, their behaviour still remains unpredictable. Although the Zagreb installation is dramatic and monumental in its size, it still primarily charms and seduces us with its sound and movement, behaving as it is out of control, vigorously and playfully, like a living organism.
