“RECONSTRUCTION” Street Art Festival, 6-8 p.m. September, Dorcol Street, Pancic Park, backyard of “King Peter I” Elementary School, UK Old Town: Live murals / exhibitions / stands / music / market / workshops / art installations / street games.
We invite our fellow citizens to transform the streets and other public spaces of downtown Belgrade into outdoor art spaces, into places for gathering, talking and playing.
The festival will open on September 6 at 7 pm, in the UK “Stari grad” with an event that will mark the jubilee – 20 years since the first graffiti jam in Belgrade, held at the elementary school “King Petar I”. An exhibition of documentary photographs and objects will be presented, and some of the actors in the aforementioned collective drawing will participate in the panel “Art is Still on the Street – 20 Years Later”. How this action came about, how street art affected their lives, and how the professions, where the scene was then, and how it looks today, how the social context affects street art, are just some of the questions to discuss: Nikola Radojcic – Negre (graphic designer, studio co-founder Dechko Tzar), Boris Bulatovic – Cobe (founder of tattoo studio Kobra Deluxe), Igor Crnatovic – Sub Zero (graphic designer). The discussion moderator will be Marko Krstic, one of the most active graffiti authors from the Belgrade scene.
To commemorate the anniversary, a collective painting under the distinctive label “United Colors of Belgrade”, launched by Paint Cartel Belgrade, will take place in the courtyard of the King Peter the First Elementary School, and will feature 16 authors / art collectives active in the Serbian and international street art scene. who will perform his artwork on a wall nearly 45 meters long. Cartoons: Petar Piros Popovic (Serbia), AKIRA (Serbia), Weedzor (Serbia), MOSK (Croatia), XYMO-RULE (Serbia), Branko Tešević – RAGE (Serbia), STAR (Serbia), SENSI (Serbia), JAPON (Spain), SKIRL (Austria), Das Drogen (Serbia), Nikola Mihajlovic (Serbia) and winners of the Young Artist Contest.
The facades on Dorcol, selected in cooperation with the residents of the Old Town, will be painted by local, regional and foreign artists: Julieta.XLF (Spain), Sebas Velasco (Spain), Wuper Kec (Serbia), Kriška Kriškić (Serbia), Sanja Stojkovic – Tiffany Ruby (Croatia), Nikola Radojicic – The Burazeri Brothers and SUB ZERO (Serbia), SUPER TIMOR (Serbia).
The Pancic Park will house street photography exhibitions, a market, a music program, an exhibit called “Make Art”, a spatial installation, and visitors / bodies will be able to observe and draw live.
