The best Gypsy Jazz – Swing composition Rosenberg Trio will perform on March 13, 2019 at Kombank Hall within the jubilee 20th Guitar Art Festival.
After two sales of the Sava Center in 2006 and 2008, the most famous Gipsy Jazz – Swing composition Rosenberg Trio from the Netherlands, will also perform at the jubilee Guitar Art Festival on March 13, 2019 in Kombank Hall. Rosenberg Trio is one of the most impressive jazz bands of today, and certainly the best when it comes to “Gypsy Jazz”. For three decades now they have been performing worldwide, from the North Sea Jazz Festival to New York’s Carnegie Hall. Rosenberg’s virtuoso Štokelo leads the trio he founded with the brothers Noni (double bass) and Nuše (rhythm guitar). Štokelo Rosenberg is considered one of the best guitarists of all time, and many today claim that he has reached his model, the legendary Gang Reinhart. Štokel’s unforgettable, extremely melodic gig is today universally regarded as one of the most brilliant forms of guitar playing. He has won the prestigious Golden Guitar Award by Guitarist Magazine.
– If you want to learn and understand gypsy jazz, start with Jang, the best guitar player ever, said Stokes Rosenberg. He started to play guitar at age 10, which is very rare in such a music family. Then he started listening to Gang and he learned all his solos, imitated him to the last detail, and soon he could do everything.
Rosenberg Trio has at the same time great clarity, strength and precision. Perhaps this is why the maestro Stefan Grapeli immediately summoned them when he first saw and heard this virtuous trio. Together they later recorded for the Caravan CD. Today, Rosenberg Trio has 26 studio and concert albums behind it, among them the “Djangologists” CD, which marked the 100th anniversary of Gang’s birth. Besides the repertoire of the legendary Gang, the trio also performs its works among which is the most popular guitar standard, the song “For Sephora” composed by Štokelo Rosenberg.
