American singer-songwriter whose musical style can be described as punk blues that has not been immune either big Nick Cave (who took her to the European tour), Silpa Ray (Shilpa Ray) will hold its premiere concert in Serbia on Thursday, 25 July 2019th in the jazz cantina of Lisbon (Kombank Hall) in Belgrade, organized by Rock Svirka concert agency starting at 9 pm.
Shilpa Ray is an American songwriter whose musical style can be described as a blues punk. This style is compared with performers such as Blondie, The Cramps and Screamin ‘Jay Hawkins, while her vocals are compared with Patti Smith, Nick Cave, and Ella Fitzgerald.
Her first project under the pseudonym Beat the Devil was released in 2006, but the band was soon dissolved after the first and only release.

After that, Shilpa Ray continued her solo career along with the accompanying band Her Happy Hookers. The debut album of the newly formed group “A Fish Hook An Open Eye” was released in 2009, and one of the producers was Jay Brown (Jay). There followed 7 “single” Venus Shaver / Natural Selection “which is the first edition for Knitting Factory Records. The next long-running album with her Happy Hookers band “Teenage and Torture” in January 2011 saw the light of the day. This record was made possible by musicians from Brooklyn European tour with Nick Cave (Nick Cave), as well as the release of the EP edition for his Bad Seed LTD label.
