The famous Polish prog rock band RIVERSIDE will hold a big concert at the Youth Center in Belgrade on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, organized by MH Concerts and Serbian Hellbangers.
RIVERSIDE has been in the mix since 2001 and have so far released 7 studio albums and held numerous performances all over the world. The band will present their new album ‘Wasteland’, which was released on September 28 for the Inside Out Music publishing house in the upcoming tour and concert in Belgrade. The visual identity of the complete package was effectively realized by the longtime collaborator of the band, famous designer Travis Smith (Opeth, Katatonia, Devin Townsend, Anathema, Amorphis). The songs on this edition were the first to compose the band as a trio after the tragic loss of a guitarist and one of the founders of the band, Piotr Grudzinski, who died in 2016.
“I remember the moment when we officially announced that we would continue as a trio,” recalls Mariusz Duda, singer, bassist and lead composer in the band. “Many of our fans can not imagine an album without Grudzien. We wanted to continue our concerts and work on new songs, in honor of our friend. “Duda already had the concept at the time, he wanted to make an album that would tell someone how he survived a great tragedy. “I had the feeling that we would be okay and that we would create something beautiful and special.” On the new album of the guitar, Duda was playing, while the live guitarists Maciej Meller and the young talented Mateusz Owczarek toured beautiful songs.
“Wasteland is definitely one of the darkest and most emotional albums in our discography,” says Michal Lapay, a band’s keyboards. “We literally go through the second life syndrome and we consciously added several references to our second album Second Life Syndrome in 2005.”
The main theme that runs through Wasteland is an attempt to survive in the world after the Apocalypse. “I never thought that after 17 years of band and 6 studio releases, I would again have the feeling of publishing a debut album,” says drummer Piotr Kozieradski. “Wasteland is as important as our first panel Out of Myself. This is a heavier and darker Riverside. ”
Taking into account all these facts, the band decided to return several songs from the beloved debutante Out of Myself and the successful Second Life Syndrome for the first time after a long time in the set for the upcoming tour. They also prepared the performance of Wasteland’s album as a whole, with their so far the richest light decoration and the hosting of additional musicians on the scene. All fans of the atmospheric rock program and fans of heavy riffs expect a real audio-visual spectacle on March 13, 2019 in the premises of the Youth Center of Belgrade!
